Morrissey – Irish Blood, English Heart
This is one of my favorite new Morrissey songs. It is fitting that part of my dad's family are Irish immigrants living in England.
Morrissey vs. NME
In the newest issue of NME (a British magazine about new music), there is a cover story on Morrissey. Morrissey and NME have always been at odds, but it has generally been tame. This time, however, rather than just publishing the Morrissey interview as it was done, NME decided to add commentary that totally trashes the man. I've not read the article, titled "Has the World Changed, or Has He Changed?", as it's not readily available to me.
Here is the response from Morrissey's manager.
Here is the NME web site.

Therion – Cult of the Shadow
Time for another song... this one is by Therion. Therion is a Swedish gothic metal band. It's to my liking, but maybe not yours. Try it.
Album Quilt
If you look at my Music page, you'll see that I've added an "album quilt" from my last.fm account. It shows a collage of all the albums that I listen to most frequently. I think this is way cool, but you may not. If you're not familiar with last.fm, here's how it works: any time I listen to music, the song information is transmitted to my last.fm account. This way, I can get music recommendations based on what I listen to, I can have my own web radio station, I can show people what I listen to, etc. That's where the album listing on the right side of the page comes from.
Also, I enhanced my Morrissey page with an album quilt and public photos from Flickr tagged with Morrissey.
Storm Photos and Video
The Storm and the Balls concert was good last night. We really like the opening band, Kleveland. Check out the photos here.
For those of you who have never seen Storm and the Balls perform, here is a video clip:

Abba-Gadda-Davida
It's been a while since I've posted music, so here's one from the beloved Storm. I'm going to see her in concert this weekend.
last.fm
I finally joined the last.fm revolution. You can see all of the music that I listen to on right side of my page. I realize that the page loads much slower, but the cool factor is worth the wait. My last.fm name is dolcex if you want to be my friend.
Metal, Old and New
The Old: an amazing cover of the Queen song "Stone Cold Crazy" by Metallica. This is, of course, when Metallica was still a metal band.
The New: Lamb of God has caught my attention lately. You'll mostly find younger punks (not the good kind) listening to this stuff, but I like it anyway.
Triple the Punk
Today I offer up three fine punk songs. These are three well known artists, so I won't go into a description of each. Use google if you really need to know more about them.
NOFX - Bottles To The Ground (party song)
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized (80's rebellious youth)
Bad Brains - I Against I (a classic)
Alison Krauss @ Edgefield
![]()
Alison Krauss will be at Macmenamins Edgefield on July 5, and we got great seats: 8 rows back in the center. I saw her once in San Francisco, but it was a huge outdoor concert under the Golden Gate bridge and I didn't hear much. This concert at the Edgefield will be more intimate and we'll be much closer.
